Our pricing philosophy

Three rules:

1. Quote on the call = bill on the day. If something on the job genuinely changes the price (you’ve added 20 more panels, the hire ran 3 weeks longer than agreed), we’ll tell you before we deliver or invoice. No bill-shock at the end.
2. No fuel surcharges, no per-mile delivery, no Scottish surcharge. Flat regional rates. National hire firms add 10-15% on Glasgow deliveries by the time fuel, surcharge and admin fees are bundled in. We don’t.
3. Better rates the longer you hire. Weekly rate beats daily. Monthly long-term rate beats weekly. If your build runs 4+ weeks, ask for a flat monthly figure.

Standard panel rates

Volume discounts apply automatically for orders 50+ panels, and again for 100+.

Delivery + collection

Includes: – Delivery to site – Collection at end of hire – 30-minute heads-up text before arrival – Delivery and collection notes (signed, recorded) – Standard install (orders 20+ panels within Glasgow)

Long-term contract rates

For sites running 4 weeks or more, we’ll quote a flat monthly figure that beats the weekly rate by a clear margin.

Indicative monthly rates (per panel, all-in):

• 4-12 weeks: ~£5.20-5.50/panel/month (saves ~15% vs weekly)
• 3-6 months: ~£4.80-5.00/panel/month (saves ~25% vs weekly)
• 6+ months: ~£4.50-4.80/panel/month (saves ~30%+ vs weekly)

How we compare to national hire firms

Honest comparison. Site managers running their numbers consistently find us:

• 10-20% under the national quote for equivalent panel counts on Glasgow sites

Why? We don’t carry the overhead of a national fleet, regional depots, sales force, or call centres. That cost saving comes off the rate. Local always beats national for trades the customer can verify in their own city.

Buying vs hiring — the honest comparison

Some customers ask whether it’s cheaper to buy panels outright. Honest answer for typical sites:

Buying 20 panels outright: ~£1,200-1,800 retail (depending on supplier and condition), plus you need somewhere to store them, transport them to and from sites, maintain them, replace damaged ones, and dispose of broken ones.

Hiring 20 panels for 4 weeks (one job): ~£170-220 + delivery.

Break-even: at around 8-12 separate hires of similar duration, buying becomes cheaper than hiring — IF you have storage, IF you have a vehicle to move them, IF you can absorb the maintenance/replacement cost, and IF you can use them frequently enough to justify the capital tied up.

Verdict for most customers: if you don’t need panels permanently, hire wins. If you’re a developer or contractor running 10+ sites a year with overlap, buying may make sense — and we can advise on second-hand panel sourcing if you want to take that route.

What can affect the quoted price

Stated openly so nothing surprises you:

• Extra panels added mid-hire — billed at the same per-panel rate
• Hire period extended — pro-rata at the agreed weekly rate, no overrun penalty
• Out-of-hours delivery or collection — £85 call-out rate (evenings, Sunday, bank holidays)
• Emergency call-out (theft, storm damage, urgent expansion) — £85 call-out + standard delivery
• Site relocation mid-hire — flat relocation fee, quoted on the call
• Specialist access (crane offload, restricted height vans, on-foot delivery into a courtyard) — discussed before booking
• Damaged or missing panels at collection — charged at cost, held against the £25/panel deposit
• Install for smaller orders or sites outside Glasgow — flat install fee, quoted on the call

Payment methods

• Cash on delivery — for one-off jobs
• Card payment link (Tide/Stripe) — sent at booking, paid before or on delivery
• Bank transfer — for advance payment or trade accounts
• 30-day BACS — standard for trade accounts after first completed hire

Deposit policy

Damage deposit of £25/panel is collected at booking (separately from hire fee) and refunded within 48 hours of collection, provided panels return in serviceable condition.

What counts as “serviceable”: – Standard wear and tear (mud, scuffs, minor dents, paint marks) — fully refunded – Slight bends to uprights from typical site use — fully refunded – Missing clips or minor accessory loss — small deduction – Bent / unusable mesh — deducted at cost (~£20-40/panel) – Missing panel — full panel replacement cost (~£70-90/panel) deducted

For long-term trade accounts with established trading history, deposit can sometimes be reduced or waived against credit terms. Discuss on the call.

VAT

All prices quoted are excluding VAT unless otherwise stated. VAT charged at the standard rate on invoices.
